About the Program

Choose Change is a behaviour change program focused on early intervention for individuals who have used low level violence including those of Aboriginal and Torres-Strait Islander and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) backgrounds. The program supports individuals by increasing their awareness and skills surrounding non-abusive behaviours, identifying unhelpful thought patterns, and developing emotional awareness and management skills.

Participants addresses their abusive behaviours, develop a robust safety plan, and commit to change to reduce the risk of further abuse impacting their relationships. Choose Change utilises a coordinated crisis response to ensure the ongoing safety of women and children in the City of Armadale.

Through positive participation in the program, individuals engage in behaviour change to ensure the ongoing safety for their partners and family. Additionally, the program has a child-centred focus which will hold individuals accountable in making positive parenting choices and help to develop healthy relationships with children within the family unit
